What You’ll Do in This Position
- Serve as an integral member of the OGC team and primary point of contact for Government contracting and subcontracting matters
- Provide practical and actionable project/business-oriented legal advice and recommendations on a broad spectrum of legal issues surrounding Government contracting and subcontracting and general business activities associated with a Government prime contractor
- SRNS Supply Chain Management organization in drafting, negotiating, and managing subcontracts.
- SRNS Contracts management organization is managing the SRNS prime contract with the Government.
- SRNS Business Services organization in fields such as finance/fiscal law, security, privacy, supply chain risk management, and information and operational technology.
- Collaborate with OGC peers in areas such as labor/employment, and environmental, safety, and health, ethics, and compliance to provide timely and quality advice to business units and functions on legal and contractual requirements
- Review SRNS policies, procedures, and practices, and provide recommendations
- Develop and maintain relationships with peers in industry
- Prepare training materials and conduct training
- Other duties as assigned
Security Clearance Information
SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications We Require
• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
• Must be licensed in at least 1 jurisdiction and eligible to practice law in-house in South Carolina
• 10+ years of experience practicing law
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) “Q” security clearance.
Qualifications We Desire
- 5+ years of advanced experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), DOE Acquisition Regulation (DEAR), and DOE/ National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) orders, directives, and policies
- 5+ years of Experience with DOE/NNSA prime contracts and subcontracts under DOE/NNSA prime contracts
- Experience with or knowledge of DOE/NNSA physical and information security requirements
- Experience with open-records laws and regulations such as the Freedom of Information Act
- Advanced experience with contracts litigation and dispute resolution; demonstrated ability to diffuse tense situations in an Ombudsman capacity
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, collaborate with peers, participate in cross-functional teams, effectively manage shifting priorities, and consistently meet tight timing requirements with high quality work product
- Ability to stand firm in a tactful and professional manner
- Ability to build consensus and trust with all levels of management
- Strong business judgment and acumen
- Advanced analytical skills and written and oral communication skills; demonstrated ability to convert complex laws, regulations, and clauses into practical and usable guidance
- Advanced negotiating skills and experience with changes, requests for equitable adjustment, claims, and disputes
- Experience with PeopleSoft Supply Chain Management modules
- Consideration may be given for credentials or certifications relating to Government contracting/subcontracting, subcontract/contract management, business, ethics, and corporate compliance
